2025 The Aspiring Student Activist Award
This award recognizes high school students who have demonstrated a profound commitment to cultural competence, bilingualism, and promoting diversity and equity in their communities. The Oregon Association for Bilingual Education aims to honor their efforts and to promote leadership pathways that encourage aspiring activists to continue making a difference for multilingual children and families in our state.
Qualified candidates must:
- Be a junior- or senior-year student currently enrolled in an Oregon high school
- Complete the entire application and follow submission deadlines
- Priority will be given to those students who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Priority will be given to those students who attend the Path to Scholarships workshop on January 10, 2025.
Award timeline:
- Applications/nominations must be submitted no later than February 7, 2025
- Final award recipient will be notified by February 14, 2025
- A $1000 award presentation will be awarded to three finalists at the OABE Winter Conference on February 22, 2025
