Our district is forecasting a significant drop in ELs next year and large number  of monitor 1 and 2 students.  Wondering what type of support other districts are offerring  monitored students?   This may be the perfect opportunity to put in place a two prong sys. that lends it's well to  English languge developement as well as more advanced language support as it applies to core content.  Am wondering if any district have a  model  that focus on Monitored students....Any suggestions? Ideas?

We are working on developing common formative assessments in writing for ELD in Newberg School District. We are starting with 4th grade and will focus on other grades after that. I will post some as they are developed in the next few weeks.

The below this message leads to a great tool created by Chuck Tomac of Gresham-Barlow School District: the Highly Performing Schools Database. With it, you can search for schools with similar demographics to your own and then select schools that have done well on OAKS. These are great comparison schools to interview concerning the practices that they have implemented.
